Car sharing is strongly encouraged and the leader for a specific walk can usually help you to contact others with whom you can share. There is currently no club recommeded formula for cost sharing, but members should always check with the driver of the car they are in as to what is expected. This could be paying the walk fee for the day for the driver, or shouting them a cup of coffee afterwards.
