The Outdoor Club of NSW was founded in 1955 and is based in Sydney.
The Club’s main activity is bushwalking, but over time social activities have also become an important part of our programme. Our membership of about 90 members are mainly in the 50 + age group. Our programme lists walks on most Saturdays and Sundays, and these vary from easy to medium, and occasionally hard. We walk in the Royal National Park, Kuringai Chase, the Blue Mountains, but there are also frequent easy walks through suburban parks, along waterways and beaches. There are also a number of weekend events, as well as longer trips lasting several days, with accommodation generally being provided in hotels/motels or cabins.
The Outdoor Club is a social club, not a commercial organization. The Committee of the Club is entirely made up of members, and all walks and events are organized and led by members, who volunteer their time. The Club carries Public Liability and Accident Insurance for all its members.
Would you like to go bushwalking with a group of like-minded people? Then try the Outdoor Club – we actively welcome new members. We are a friendly bunch, and our members go out of their way to make new members feel at home. Come to one of our monthly meetings, or come as a visitor on one of our walks - click on the How To Join tab for details!
