THE WATAGAN WANDERERS INC

CLUB INFORMATION

The Watagan Wanderers is a bushwalking club whose activities usually cover walking, from very easy to very hard walks, & bushsports such as abseiling, canoeing, canyoning, cross-country skiing & cycling, as well as camping & social activities. We have Public Liability Insurance & Personal Accident insurance, & are affiliated with the NSW Confederation of Bushwalkers. We have a monthly newsletter. The Watagans are one of our favourite places, but we walk in many areas. We were formed in 1993 & welcome new members. Our members come from a wide area, from all over Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, the Hunter Valley & the Central Coast.

On our program of activities there is a day walk each Wednesday & Saturday, graded from Grade 1 to Grade 5 in order of difficulty - from G1 a very easy, social walk, G3 a medium walk, up to G5, harder & off track. On Sundays there is often another activity such as abseiling or cycling & there are camps, sometimes during the week & sometimes weekends - both car based camps & pack walks.

Our meeting night is the THIRD THURSDAY of each month currently at WESTLAKES MINERS' MUSEUM Hall, at the end of James St, Teralba. Anyone is welcome to come along & meet us then. Or contact us to request a program & come along to an activity.

Membership fees are $25 per annum plus a once only joining fee of $10. You are welcome to come along a couple of times before joining, but we expect people to join when they have come as a visitor three times, as our insurance for visitors cuts out after 3 visits. In the second half of our financial year (January to June), the $25 fee is reduced to $13, making a total of $23 to join during that time.
